*Please remember we charge a very nominal fee for our lessons; and each session's budget is determined by the number of enrollees. We hold your swimmer's place in class for each date of the session and cannot fill that spot for just one class date, therefore we cannot issue refunds for missed classes; we cannot carry over balances from one session to another session; and participants cannot pick and choose the dates they wish to attend. Please review the Make-up Policy for further details.
*If, for any reason,
any pool we utilize, is closed and we
are informed of this prior to lessons, we will post the information on our FaceBook page and try to send out an email
blast letting you know. Unfortunately, if a closure happens while we
are on-site, we will not be able to contact all the families.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
*Lessons will continue even if it
is raining, however they will be cancelled if there is lightening. If VIA feels the weather is bad enough that it would hinder the swimmers' learning, Hawaii Swimming has the right to cancel classes. Please
keep in mind that the first lesson may be cancelled, yet the last lesson
may still happen.
Make-up Classes:
*Hawaii Swimming does NOT offer make-up classes
for your absences under any circumstances. If you choose to miss class/es due to a scheduling conflict, vacation, or illness, you forfeit the fees associated with that class.
*If a situation occurs which is out of our control (i.e. weather, pool closures, etc.), we do NOT offer any make-up classes.
*Private lessons: if you cancel without giving 72 hours notice, you will be charged for that lesson. If we are able to fill your spot with another lesson/student, we will offer you an extension on your class schedule (no refunds).
*If there is an opening at another location, time, or day, within the same session, which matches the swimmer's skill level, with prior approval from both VHawaii Swimming management and the instructor, you may be able to make-up your missed class/es. This is a courtesy and there are no guarantees or promises that this will occur.
*If you know ahead of time that you will be missing a class, please do inform us, and if we can find an opening for your swimmer, we will be happy to do so (please see above policy).
Credits/Refunds:
*Hawaii Swimming does not issue credits
or carry over balances from one session to another.
*If there are fewer than four (4) students registered for a class, the class may be cancelled and your student will be placed
in another class, which may be at a different time. Hawaii Swimming will notify you of this, and work with you to place your student in another class/time for that session. If we are unable to do this, we will issue you a refund for the classes you do not attend.
*Classes that Hawaii Swimming cancels will be made up on a subsequent date, or you will be offered your choice of location, day, time for the make-up class.
*Classes cancelled due to a reason out of our
control, such as the weather, or pool closure, will not be made-up
and no refunds will be issued.
